This caused the staff to lose collegiality, teamwork. You see evidence of that collaboration in how we conduct research, provide real-life learning opportunities and engage with industry. I enjoyed working for the School until the administration chose to reorganize behind closed doors. Shannon has two college-age children and lives in North Carolina with his wife Karen.UNC Kenan-Flagler is known for its collaborative culture.

As a consultant Shannon has worked in interim senior management roles for companies restructuring in the textiles space. Previously a vice president at Hanesbrands, Shannon worked closely with key retailers including Walmart, Target, JC Penney, Kohl’s, Costco, and Victoria's Secret. His international experience includes living and working in London, Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Prague, and Hong Kong. As an entrepreneur Shannon has worked with startup companies and with new divisions of larger companies. His work has included starting ecommerce sites in the US and China. Shannon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from Williams College and an MBA from The Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He serves on the Fryeburg Academy Board of Trustees and the City of Winston-Salem Budget Advisory Council. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and the North Carolina Inception Micro Angel Fund.


Shannon McKeen T’91, Director for the National Consortium for Data Science, is an instructor in UNC Kenan-Flagler’s online MBA Program and serves as a faculty advisor in Tuck’s First-Year Project and OnSite Global Consulting courses.
